A 10-step journey

Our will generator guides you through 10 easy-to-understand steps to generate a tailor-made will in compliance with legal requirements.

Step 1: Personal information

In this first step, you enter your personal information (name, first name, date of birth, address, etc.) necessary to establish your will.

Step 2: Marital Status

In this step, you have the option, if you wish, to remove your spouse's statutory share if you are in the process of divorce by joint petition or have been effectively separated for at least two years.

Step 3: The hereditary reserve

This step allows you to calculate the share of your inheritance that must be allocated to certain heirs who are called statutory heirs under Swiss law. Statutory heirs are your spouse or registered partner and your direct descendants.

Step 4: Bequests to relatives or charities

At this stage, we invite you to indicate whether you wish to make one or more bequests to relatives or charities.

Step 5: Allocation of the balance of the available portion to the heirs

In this step, you will need to indicate how the rest of your assets will be distributed between your legal or appointed heirs.

Step 6: Reporting Order

In this step, you can indicate whether any gifts made to one or more heirs during your lifetime should be taken into account, or not, when opening the succession.

Step 7: Usufruct

Swiss law allows you to favour your spouse or registered partner when you have common children, in addition to granting them your available portion. You can thus leave the usufruct of all or part of the share allocated to your common children to your surviving spouse or registered partner .

Step 8: Executor

Swiss law gives you the possibility to name an executor in your will, namely a person (physical or moral) who will be responsible for ensuring that your last wishes are respected.

Step 9: Estate

Draw up an inventory of your assets: real estate, bank accounts, valuables, etc. This will allow your heirs to identify all of your assets and will also allow you to easily establish sharing rules.

Step 10: Sharing Rule

At this point, you have the option to choose how your assets will be distributed among your heirs.

Validation by a legal professional

Review your document to confirm the data you entered. Once you have validated the data , your will will be made available to you within 5 days on our platform. You will need to copy it by hand and sign it for it to be legally valid.
